VB Community - Teaching to children with autism

We are looking for an experienced independent ABA tutor to join the team working with our 6 ½ yr old son who is high functioning ASD, both on his home program and at school. You will be joining a team dedicated to the social, communication and academic education of our son. He is a energetic, happy child who requires patience to encourage him to use the language he has and communicate appropriately without prompts.

The successful candidate must have at least 4 years experience in ABA teaching methods.

The job will include approximately 12 hours a week, at a high rate of pay, both tutoring at home and shadowing at school.

4 sessions of 3 hours:
Monday afternoon
Tues morning and afternoon
Thurs morning team meeting

At school the tutor will be required to employ the strategies and assist the class teachers to help the child develop speech / language and other social skills.
The program focuses on social, communication, self help, play and academic skills under the supervision of an ABA provider.
